Released in 1967,The Velvet Underground & Nicois one of the most influential debut albums in rock history. Produced by Andy Warhol and instantly recognisable by its iconic banana artwork, the record pushed boundaries with raw lyricism, avant-garde textures and uncompromising subject matter.
Featuring groundbreaking tracks like “Sunday Morning,” “I’m Waiting for the Man,” “Venus in Furs” and “Heroin,” the album blends art rock, proto-punk and experimental soundscapes into a bold and confrontational statement. Though initially overlooked, it went on to shape generations of alternative and indie musicians.
